BJP state chief warns Rajamouli over Komaram Bheems portrayal in movie
Hyderabad: Bandi Sanjay Kumar, Karimnagar MP and BJP Telangana president, launched a war of words against Tollywood director S.S. Rajamouli. Sanjay threatened to attack the Baahubali director for the portrayal of Komaram Bheem wearing a skull cap, as shown in the movie's teaser. While addressing crowds during his campaigning for the bypolls to the Dubbaka Assembly constituency, Sanjay said that Rajamouli's father and elder brother are good people but to put a skull cap on Komaram Bheem is nothing but a disrespectful publicity stunt.

"Why should we accept him (Rajamouli) putting a skull cap on Komaram Bheem? This means hurting the sentiments of tribal communities," he said.

He challenged Rajamouli to make a movie where Nizam is portrayed with a tilak on the forehead or with a saffron 'kanduva' on the shoulders.

He also threatened Rajamouli: "bidda Ninnu badisela tho ti kodtham (will attack you with weapon), if the movie is released." I warn everyone. We will burn down every theater and conduct protests if the movie is released in any theaters, he added.

"We are not against Jr NTR or Ramcharan, who are playing lead roles, or any other actors in this movie. We respect them and it is our culture. But if someone tries to play with the sentiments of Hindus, we will not accept that. Playing with the sentiments of Hindus has become a fashion. We should unite to stop this," tweeted Sanjay.

In the teaser released last Saturday, actor Jr NTR who plays Komaram Bheem in the movie is seen in a white costume and a skull cap, resembling the attire of a particular community. Since then, Rajamouli and the makers of the movie have been facing heat. Even the descendants of Komaram Bheem have raised objections in this aspect.
