Congress leader in Kerala V D Satheesan complained to ECI to take action against Delhi's Lt Governor V K Saxena for violation of model code of conduct.

Lt. Governor called a meeting of church heads in Kerala, Syro Malabar Church, Jacobite Syrian Orthodox Church, Malankara Orthodox Syrian Church, and others.

Satheesan contended that the Governor was a constitutional head of state and was restricted from involvement in any political activity but Saxena was allegedly trying to garner votes.
