Hyderabad: A 38-year-old man had allegedly raped his 13-year-old daughter on multiple occasions during the lockdown period in Vikarabad district in Telangana. The girl who studies at a religious institution, had come home as the institution was closed owing to the lockdown.

According to the Vikarabad police, the accused is a daily wage labourer and a resident of Alladurg village. The victim has been studying away from home. She came home in the last week of March after the lockdown was announced.

During this time, the accused threatened her and raped her multiple times at their home only. It was found that he threatened her of dire consequences if she revealed the matter to others.

However, the girl’s step mother found it and informed the police on Saturday. Further, the police rescued the child and based on her statement registered a case against her father and started investigation. The girl’s mother passed away a few years ago, after which her father married another woman.
