Ambati slams Naidu over residence near Krishna

YSRC MLA Ambati Rambabu on Saturday said, “All the irrigation projects in the state are filled owing to the floodwater received from riparian states to Srisailam, Nagarjunasagar, Pulichintala projects and to Prakasam barrage.”

For the two and a half-month-old Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy government this is a rare event which has occurred after 10 years. Farmers are happy as there is adequate water for irrigation, said Mr Ambati.

Mr Ambati came down heavily on form chief minister N. Chandrababu Naidu for living in an illegal construction across the Karakatta on the banks of the Krishna. The YSRC MLA said, “Mr Naidu has been making baseless allegations against the government and it is like in the case of Nero playing the fiddle while Rome was burning.” He added, “Mr Naidu raised questions against the government for using drones on his house, but the drones are being used to identify the effect of floods and to evacuate people to safer places. Why should Mr Naidu be afraid of the drones?”

He also questioned why Mr Naidu was occupying an illegal construction which was built below the maximum flood level and said, “Where is the need for the government to sink his house?”

It is sad and unfortunate that Mr Naidu had to leave the illegal construction after being served a notice by the VRO and that the VRO was not allowed to meet Mr Naidu. Naidu should leave the house immediately for his own safety said Mr Ambati.

He also questioned Mr Naidu for not building his own house in Amaravati and said that the Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan had built his own house and is staying there. “Naidu does not believe in making Amaravati his home and hence stayed in a rented illegal house,” said Mr Ambati.

The MLA said that the government will certainly look into providing Mr Naidu a house if he seeks to have one and that he already receives a house rent allowance.
