American national Paul Robert, an ardent cyclist found dead near Gandipet

Hyderabad: An American national, living in Hyderabad, died in a freak accident on May 17th. The decease has been identified as Paul Robert Little John. He was found dead near the hillocks located at the backwaters of the lake, police said.

"It is suspected that, while cycling through the difficult terrain,the man would have accidentally fallen from the top and died, an officer with the Cyberabad police added. Narsingi police of Cyberabad commissionerate registered a case, Meanwhile, the body is likely to be handed over to his family on Monday, duly after required documentation from the US embassy, followed by postmortem.

Cyberabad police informed that, Paul Robert Little John, a mechanical engineer by qualification, along with his wife Erica Angeline Little John (39) and two children were residing at Aparna Shangrila, near Q city in Gachibowli. Erica is the Vice President at State Street India Private Limited,a multi-national company.

Accompanied by his friend, Robert an ardent cyclist, would venture out every morning. The duo would usually head towards Gandipet lake. On Sunday, as friend Aram was engaged with work, Robert ventured out alone at around 6 AM. Suspicion grew when the man did not return until 8.30 AM. Multiple calls made by Ms.Erica went unanswered.The lady approached Gachibowli police station officials, a team with the help of a location tracker traced the location. Meanwhile, Aram joined the team and guided them to the location.

Hours into the search operation ended when Robert was found dead at 6 PM, while his bicycle was few meters away. "It is suspected that he might have fallen from a height of more than fifteen meters and landed on his head. There is no mischief identified in his death. His cell phone and other personal items were found with the body. It is an accidental death' Cyberabad Commissioner of police VC Sajjanar told NewsMeter.
