FACT CHECK:

The report by NEWS 24 states that the incident took place in Bhopal and carries a statement by complainant Mukesh Suri. We noticed that the CCTV footage shows the date 17/10/2011.

Using this information we searched online and found a report by TIMES OF INDIA from October 2011 that reported on the incident. The report identifies the woman in question as Ash Causal. She was booked under Section 270 of the IPC, a malignant act that is meant to cause infection or disease-causing threat to life.

We also found a YouTube handle called 'JANSANDESH NEWS' and a report by JAGRAN from 2011 that also identify the domestic help as Asha Kaushal.

In 2020 fact-checking websites such as Boom Live and India Today had debunked the claim.

Evidently, the claim that the domestic help who contaminated the food at a house in Bhopal was a Muslim is false.
