Fact check:

The claim that Reliance Foundation is pasted its logo on Saudi supplied oxygen tankers is FALSE.

Recently, Reliance started the production of medical-grade oxygen in Jamnagar.

According to an article in Business standard.com, Reliance Industries Ltd (RIL) has now become the country's largest producer of medical-grade liquid oxygen from a single location.

At its refinery-cum-petrochemical complex in Jamnagar and other facilities, RIL now produces over 1,000 MT of medical-grade liquid oxygen per day -- or over 11 percent of India's total production – and meeting the needs of nearly every one in 10 patients.

According to The Hindu.com, since the beginning of the pandemic in March 2020, the company has supplied over 55,000 MT of medical liquid oxygen to various State governments free of cost, it said. Its Chairman & Managing Director Mukesh Ambani is supervising the production and supplies from Jamnagar, it said.

"In addition to the production of high-quality medical-grade liquid oxygen, another challenge has been to quickly overcome the transportation bottleneck in its supply to various parts of the country. This necessitated increasing the loading capacity for its safe and quick transportation," the company said.

To achieve this, its engineers made smart logistical modifications to rail and road transport, such as laying parallel lines, using hoses, and loading up liquid tankers through pressure differential, since liquid oxygen pumps cannot be installed at short notice, it said.

Reliance Foundation tweeted the pictures of the containers that were sourced from Saudi Arabia. In its press release, Reliance Foundation thanked Saudi Arabian petrochemical company Aramco, British Petroleum, and the Indian Air Force for their help in sourcing and transporting the cryogenic containers

According to the company spokesperson, Reliance is producing oxygen but the tankers are not available to supply the gas. So, the tankers were procured from their associates in Saudi Arabia, Belgium, and Thailand.

Therefore, the claim that the Reliance Foundation is sticking its logo to Saudi supplied oxygen tankers is FALSE.
