AP woman slips to death while taking selfie at waterfall in US

Vijayawada: A 27-year-old-woman from the Krishna district of Andhra Pradesh slipped to death while taking a selfie at Bald River Falls in the US on Saturday.
Identified as Polavarapu Kamala Kamala, she was working for a software firm in the USA. The US Police said that Kamala was residing at Mayfield Heights, Ohio.
Kamala had gone to her relatives’ home on Saturday. On her return, she went to Bald River Falls to take a selfie. However, she accidentally slipped into the waters and died.
Kamala’s fiancé said they were standing at the top of the falls when they slipped into the water. Bystanders pulled him out but Kamala was swept away by gushing waters. Later, Kamala was found trapped under a log.
Kamala was shifted to the Sweetwater hospital for treatment where she was pronounced dead.
As per the local reports, Kamala was a native of Gudlavalleru Village in Krishna district of Andhra Pradesh. A graduate in engineering, she went to the US to pursue MS. She later joined a company.
North America Telugu Society (NATS) is making efforts to send her mortal remains to India for final rites.
