Case registered against man for violating quarantine order

Hyderabad: Incidents of foreign returnees violating home quarantine rules are increasing every day despite a strict quarantine order and a lockdown. One such incident was reported from Ghouse Nagar near the Tolichowki area.

According to officials, Omer Khan, 23, returned from Dubai on 14 March. Health officials and the police visited him and requested him to stay under home quarantine. They also informed his family members of the quarantine protocol. Further, they also stamped him with the quarantine stamp.

However, the officials found that for the past three days Mr Khan has been moving about in public places. On Thursday when officials visited his home, they found out that he had violated the quarantine orders and warned him of strict action. When they visited him again on Friday, he was not at home. A case has been registered against him under Sections 188, 269, 270, and 271 of the IPC and also under the Epidemics Act 1897. Mr Khan was later taken to a designated quarantine center at SD Eye hospital, Mehdipatnam.
