Cops identify 4 under-trial prisoners who escaped from Gandhi Hospital

Hyderabad: The police have identified the four under-trial prisoners who escaped from Gandhi Hospital on 27 August where they were being treated for COVID-19.

The four are Md. Abdul Arbaz (21) and Mangali Somasunder (20) from Borabanda, Md. Javeed (35) from Chandrayangutta, and Parvatham Narsaiah (41) from Kondapur in Medak district.

They had been lodged at Cherlapally Central prison and had been moved to Gandhi Hospital a few days ago after they tested positive for coronavirus. On Thursday, they cut the bars of the bathroom ventilation window and used a rope to escape from the hospital.

The police said they were wearing normal clothes at the time of their escape. In case anyone identifies them, they can call the police and collect a reward, the cops said.
