Samantha Akkineni is glowing and how! After all, she reigned in the box office last year and her movie ‘Jaanu’ is all set to release this Friday. The songs of the movie are already a hit. The promotions of the movie are in full swing and Samantha is leaving no stone unturned in looking her best in the six yards of fabric. Her style quotient, which is mostly a concoction of chic and elan, has always given all the fashionistas in the current Indian film industry a run for their money.
They say nothing can make a woman look beautiful like she would in a saree. And Samantha is surely a testimony to that! Here are the four saree looks that she donned from the recent promotional events, turning heads and grabbing eyeballs. The actress has kept simple yet sexy. Read on...
Samantha's first look saw her in an ivory tissue silk saree from Studio Bhang. It was from their Eleven Eleven collection and was designed by Swathy Jagannathan. Samantha was styled by her stylist-designer friend Preetham Jukalker with whom she collaborates very often. She opted for a strap blouse with lace hemming on it and paired it with a simple unique double-layered gold chain and stud earrings. Her makeup was quite on the softer end – nude lipstick, filled eyebrows, soft brown eyeshadow look and bindi. It had the right amount of class and elegance.
Her second look was quite simple. She wore an orange and black combination cotton saree, that seemed like it was handwoven. She had paired it with a simple black blouse. Although she didn’t post a style file for the saree, we did get a glimpse when she posted a picture of her with actor Naga Shaurya. And there are no surprises there when we say that we loved how she nailed the look.
This is undoubtedly one of her best saree looks. She went for a floral hot pink with shades of orange and baby pink. The saree was from Raw Mango and the look was curated by Preetham Jukalker again. Her blouse was quite modern in approach and her ruby necklace from Amarapali Jewellers was quite the stunner. Her soft smokey eyes and pink nude lips quite complemented her saree. It looks like she let her saree speak more than her makeup.
Her teal green blouse paired with a powder green saree for her Vizag promotions are yet to be posted on her Instagram but we got a glimpse of it from her makeup artist and stylist’s Instagram. The combination of colours and the panache she carried the whole look with, redefined sophistication. She went for kohl eyes, nude lips and beach waves. Her choker necklace did stand out in the whole look. An Instagram story posted by her stylist, where she was seen walking in this saree, reminded of nothing but a queen owning a place.
The ‘mother’ of all looks was her Raja Ravi Varma painting look, captured by popular photographer G Venket Ram, which stole the whole show. The photograph was for a calendar and she recreated the painting of an expectant mother with a small fruit that signifies new life. She certainly brought the painting alive and transported people back to that beautiful era. The makeup for this look was done by her personal makeup artist, Sadhana Singh.
