Engineering student jumps to death in East Godavari

Kakinada: A third-year engineering student of Aditya College committed suicide by jumping from the hostel building at Surampalem village of Gandepalli mandal in East Godavari district on Sunday.
The deceased has been identified as 19-year-old Chilukuri Alekya, resident of Pragadavaram village of Chintalapudi mandal in West Godavari district. The police said Alekya had been suffering from migraine for the past few years. Her father, Prasada Rao, also confirmed that she had been suffering from headaches. Unable to bear the pain she jumped from the fourth floor of her hostel building and sustained a severe head injury. The college authorities immediately took her to the Trust Hospital where she was declared brought dead.
The police have registered a case under Section 174 of CrPC (suspicious death). The police didn't find any suicide letter and an investigation is on to ascertain the exact reasons behind Alekya’s extreme step.
