Gummies can boost metabolism, not reduce weight

Social media users are claiming that having 2 weight loss gummies a day will help shed pounds in just 8 weeks without any workout.

"This is my new Love. Was 172 back in May and Now it's 128. Didn't reduce eating whatsoever and I'm too lazy to go to the gym. This is just so delicious and I didn't even think I am having a task to get it down! It just goes down so naturally unnoticed. I am feeling more energetic and my sleeping quality also improved. This is just so cool!" the caption said.

You might have seen a lot of weight loss products floating on market with a variety of claims. Gummies are claimed to be one of the tastiest ways to go on a weight loss journey.

But do these supplements work?

Let's debunk this.

Fact Check

NewsMeter found that the gummies shown in the viral claim are Apple Cider Vinegar gummies (ACV). It looks similar to ACV gummies (Red apple shape Gummies).

NewsMeter performed a keyword search on Google and found a study. "A product isn't necessarily safe simply because it's natural. Though rare, some dietary supplements have been linked to serious problems, such as liver damage. Supplements can have strong effects. Ephedra (ma-huang) is an herb once used for weight loss. It's now banned by the FDA because it was associated with adverse effects, such as mood changes, high blood pressure, irregular heart rate, stroke, seizures, and heart attacks," it said.

"Some weight-loss supplements have been found to contain hidden ingredients, such as prescription drugs, that may be harmful,", it added.

We found another research. "Research concludes that this claim is baseless. A review of 13 human and 13 animal studies concluded that there was not enough credible evidence to determine whether ACV has any beneficial effects on weight loss. No evidence suggests that ACV gummies aid in managing weight," it said.

Studies prove that drinking apple cider vinegar in an appropriate portion may contribute to the fat loss being acetic. But there is no evidence backing the claim that ACV gummies can also promote fat loss.

No supplement will help without diet and exercise. These gummies are more trending and when it comes to weight loss or fat burning, apple cider gummies or keto gummies are only supplements. Actual fat loss happens when you have a balanced diet with proper exercise and portion control. These temporary weight loss techniques will end up in health issues and you gain back easily. So, better start weight loss with a healthy diet and exercise. You can add these gummies only to boost your metabolism.

There is no scientific evidence to prove ACV gummies to be useful in weight loss.

Hence, the claim is false.
