Farmer who set ablaze Tahsildar Vijaya Reddy succumbs to injuries

Hyderabad: Tenant farmer Kurra Suresh, who brutally killed Abdullapurmet Tahsildar Vijaya Reddy, succumbed to burn injuries on Thursday. The 45- year old native from Gourelli sustained 65 per cent burns in the incident and breathed his last at around 3.30 pm. The doctors of Osmania General Hospital declared him dead.

With Suresh, the death count rose to three, including Tahsildar Vijaya Reddy and her personal driver Gurunatham.

Suresh, an aggrieved tenant farmer in Abdullapurmet, shocked the state as he set Vijaya Reddy ablaze in her chambers on Monday. While the government official was charred to death, the farmer, with 40 per cent burns, walked to the police station and surrendered himself.

On Tuesday Tahsildar Vijaya Reddy’s driver Gurunatham had also succumbed to burn injuries. The drive was admitted to DRDO Hospital with 80 percent burns. The 27- year old native of Garidepally village of Suryapet is survived by 8- month pregnant wife and a two-year old son.
