GHMC tax inspector, bill collector arrested for demanding bribe
By Newsmeter Network Published on 16 Aug 2019 5:20 PM GMTHyderabad : The sleuths of Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) have arrested GHMC Tax inspector M Ravi Prasad for demanding a bribe of Rs 80,000 in order to reduce the hiked property tax. In a trap laid by the ACB, the accused Prasad, serving at Saroor Nagar circle of GHMC, was caught red-handed while accepting Rs 80,000 through his conduit J. Pochaiah – a bill collector.
The duo demanded money from Pateru Janardhan, the complainant, for official favour, that is to reduce the hiked tax amount by conducting re-verification and to limit the hiked tax for only one year instead of 3 years. The cops arrested the duo, besides recovering the tax amount.
The tax inspector and bill collector were produced before the special court for ACB cases.
