Following lunch, the duo sat for in-camera six 6-hour long discussions over national, local political situation concerning both states.'The entire meeting held in a cordial atmosphere and with a spirit of mutual cooperation. Sources said, They both were unanimous while taking decisions on several issues. There was a lengthy discussion took place on the diversion of Godavari water to the Krishna Basin.

“Availability of water in Krishna River is not uniform every year.Due to this, farmers in Rayalaseema region in AP, Mahboobnagar and Nalgonda districts in Telangana state are incurring losses. Crops are not receiving the required quantam of water. It will be a wise move if water from Godavari River is diverted to the Krishna Basin when required. With this, farmers from Rayalaseema in AP, Palamur and Nalgonda will get water to their farms. While utilizing the Nagarjuna Sagar and Srisailam projects, Godavari water should be diverted to the Krishna Ayucut. Water from Godavari can be diverted with less expenditure and time,” is what both the CMs came to a conclusion. The state heads have also decided to discuss in depth on when and where water from Godavari should be diverted.

“There are unnecessary issues on Schedule 9 and 10 under the State Bifurcation Act. We have to solve the issues amicably.
