Hyderabad: Legendary singer Lata Mangeshkar has responded to the viral video of Bollywood's new sensation, Ranu Mandal.

"If anyone benefits from my name and work, I feel fortunate. But, I do not approve of the imitation singing. Imitating may give instant fame. But, it is not reliable and durable. I have met several singers, kids who work hard. I hope everyone is identified for their voice", Lata Mangeshkar opined.

Lata Ji also spoke about Asha Bhosle, her sister who was also identified for her voice. "If Asha had relied on imitating me, she would forever be in my shadow", commented Lata.
