Hyderabad: A salon owner at Mallikarjuna Nagar in Malkajgiri was tested positive for COVID 19 on Monday. This is the first case at Malkajgiri after a gap a month. Earlier there were three positive cases in Moula Ali under the Malkajgiri area, but all of them were cured. Later the area was declared containment free.
The latest development has sent the people and administration into a tizzy.
According to the health department officials, the man runs a salon at Hanumanpet in Mallikarjuna Nagar. Two days ago, he developed COVID like symptoms and reported to health staff.
Later his samples were collected for testing. After the results came back positive, he was shifted to Gandhi hospital for treatment. His wife and two sons were shifted to quarantine.
Two more persons working with him at the salon were identified and advised to remain under home quarantine. His tenant’s family including a five-year-old child were also quarantined at home.
According to officials, the man claimed that he did not open the shop in the past few days.
Salons were initially barred from functioning during the lockdown. However, the government recently announced relaxations provided they follow physical distancing and sanitization procedures. Officials are now in the process of identifying his customers who visited him after he reopened his shop.
