Man arrested for raping nine-month-old calf in Hyderabad

Hyderabad: A man was arrested in Narayanaguda, Hyderabad, for raping a nine-month-old calf. On the night of 11 March, local people caught Mahesh in the act. They rescued the animal and handed it over to an NGO, while the police arrested Mahesh.

According to sources, the 24-year-old works on a dairy farm at Basheerbagh under the jurisdiction of Narayanaguda police station. He took care of the animals on the farm. For the past few days, he had been sexually assaulting the nine-month-old calf. Inquiries revealed that in the past week he had raped the calf multiple times.

The Narayanaguda police registered a case against him under relevant sections and arrested him. He will be produced before the court.

Humane Society in India along with People For Animals, Hyderabad assisted the complainant to register a complaint against Mahesh. The complainant said, "This is not the first time that Mahesh has been caught assaulting the animals in the facility. We have seen him previously also abuse the animals."

Alokparna Sengupta, Managing Director, HSI, India said,“Such incidents of atrocities towards animals have made humanity hit unfathomable lows. This is concerning since the risk of assault looms over everybody crossing path with these offenders."
