MP Revanth Reddy arrested for operating drone camera over KTR’s farm house

Hyderabad: The Cyberabad police arrested TPCC working president and Malkajgiri MP Anumula Revanth Reddy on 5 March after he landed at the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport in Shamshabad. A police team surrounded him after he stepped out of the airport and whisked him away in police vehicles.

The MP has been sent to 14 days of judicial custody and will be shifted to Cherlapally Central Jail.

The MP, along with his brother and several brothers, has been accused of flying a drone to take photographs of state IT minister and TRS working president K.T Rama Rao’s farmhouse at Miyakhangadda village. A case was registered at Narsingi police station against them.

The Narsingi police arrested six persons, Poreddy Praveen Paul Reddy, Mangi Jaipal Reddy, Mandada Vijay Simha Reddy, Darga Rajesh, Elubandi Shiva, and Veeresh, on 4 March in connection with the case and produced them before the court. Mr Revanth Reddy and his brother Krishna Reddy were shown as absconding. It was alleged that at the behest of Mr Revanth Reddy, his brother Krishna Reddy hired some people to take photos of KTR's farmhouse on Sunday. Mr Revanth released images and drone footage to the media on Monday. Taking suo motu cognizance of the incident, the Narsingi police registered a case and started a probe. Further investigation is underway to arrest Mr Krishna Reddy.

Mr Revanth was arrested on Thursday as soon as he landed in the city. A tense atmosphere prevailed on the airport premises after a commotion broke out between the police and Mr Revanth Reddy’s followers and Congress party workers who were at the airport to receive him.
