Nikhil Kumar to do a sports drama!

Hyderabad: Actor Nikhil Kumar made his acting debut with the superhit bilingual film ‘Jaguar’ and became a hearthrobe overnight. Now, he is set to entertain his fans once again and this time the genre is going to be a sports drama. The makers announced that the film will be made in Kannada and Telugu simultaneously. The prestigious big budget film will be directed by Vijay Kumar Konda of ‘Gunde Jaari Gallanthayyinde’ fame.

On the occasion of Nikhil’s birthday, director Vijay took to Twitter and announced the film officially. ‘I'm very glad to announce my next movie A Bilingual (Kannada and Telugu) Sports Drama Starring #NikhilKumarGowda Under @LahariMusic. Thank you my producers. Music by #ArjunJanya. Regular shoot will start soon. #HappyBirthdayNikhilKumar (sic)’ read his tweet.

Chandru Manoharan will bankroll this film under music label Lahari Music which marks their venture into film production. T-Series is co producing this film. The yet-to-be-titled project will have music composed by Arjun Janya and the details of the remaining cast and crew will be revealed soon. According to sources, the shooting begins from the end of January.

Nikhil, who is the son of former Karnataka Chief Minister H. D. Kumaraswamy has a slew of interesting films lined up for him in 2020. The Kannada actor is likely to team up with director AP Arjun and the details will be out in June after he finishes shooting for Vijay’s sports drama.

In addition, the actor is said to have given his nod for a film to be produced under Lyca production and another one with producer Munirathna who made ‘Kurukshetra’.

After Jaguar, Nikhil was seen in films like ‘Seetharama Kalyana’ and ‘Kurukshetra’ in which is role of Abhimanyu was well received. Later in the year 2019, the actor forayed into politics and contested in 2019 general elections. However, after a disappointing election result, the actor is now keen to get back into films and is now working on some really interesting stories which he hopes will entertain the audience.
