Shadnagar police inspector shifted for cheering friends’ in dance party

Hyderabad: Cheering his friends for their dance moves has cost Shadnagar inspector his post.

After the videos of the dance party went viral, Cyberabad police commissioner VC Sajjanar transferred inspector A Sreedhar Kumar and attached him to the headquarters.

According to sources, Shadnagar police team along with a group of media persons had organized a get together at RR convention center at Shadnagar town. During the gathering, few of them hit the floor and started dancing.

Inspector A Sreedhar Kumar was seen cheering and whistling during the party. He was joined by other police personnel and media persons. Immediately after the programme, videos of the incident went viral on different social media platforms.

Though the superiors were in the know of the party, they initiated disciplinary action against the inspector.

Sajjanar has ordered ACP Shadnagar V Surendar to conduct a detailed inquiry into the incident and submit a report at the earliest. Sajjanar in a release stated that the action was due to dereliction of duties.

Sources said though there was no violation or any negligence on part of the inspector, the action against him is seen as a damage control measure by the department which is facing flak for alleged connections with criminals, as reported by a regional newspaper.
