Tantrik gets life imprisonment for sexually abusing, torturing boy in 2016

Hyderabad: A special court in Hyderabad, on 22 July, sentenced a "tantrik" to life imprisonment under the Juvenile Justice Act, the POCSO Act 2012, and the Drugs and Magic Remedies (Objectionable Advertisement) Act 1954 for physically and sexually abusing a boy with the help of his mother. The latter was also sentenced to 10-years rigorous imprisonment and a fine of Rs. 20,000 was imposed. The court also asked Fiyaz Mehmood Ansari, the tantrik, to pay a fine of Rs. 10,000.

On 26 September 2016, the victim's father who worked in Kuwait returned home and lodged a complaint at the Kanchanbagh police station. He claimed that his son was physically and sexually abused by Fiyaz Ansari who was helped by the boy’s mother.

Fiyaz had told Farhana, the boy's mother, that there were some spiritual problems between her and her son. The two were also reportedly having an affair. The duo started torturing and abusing the boy when he threatened to complain about them to his father. Fiyaz stabbed the boy on his back and stomach with a razor blade, strangled his throat, poured hot water on his body, and kept him naked for several hours. He would also abuse the boy physically and sexually in front of his mother and ask her to film the act.

Based on the father's complaint, the Kanchanbagh police had booked a case against both Fiyaz and the victim's mother in 2016. They were sentenced on Wednesday by the additional metropolitan special judge.
