Hyderabad:  The beams of a bridge under construction on Mulavagu here collapsed due to the heavy downpour for the past three days. The Mulavaagu in Vemulawada constituency was overflowing and disrupted the construction work, which has been ongoing for the past four years. The collapse of the Rs 22 crore bridge under construction is raising doubts about the quality of the structure and building materials used, said a citizen. Local people are demanding the state government take stringent action against the contractor.
Out of the two bridges proposed on Mulavaagu in 2016, one bridge has been completed and the second one is still in its construction stage. The water force swept away iron rods along with the overflowing Mulavaagu.
