Hyderabad: The Telangana Government (MA&UD), on August 31, released a GO with new rules of regularization of unapproved and illegal layouts in the state. The new set of rules would be followed in all rural and urban areas for approving an unapproved and illegal layout. They would be known as 'Telangana Regularization of Unapproved and Illegal Layout Rules, 2020.'

This is being done as part of the government's initiative to promote planned and sustainable development.

The cut off date is August 26, 2020, and the regularization charges are as follows:

-Less than 100 sq mt - Rs 200 per sq mt,

-101 to 300 sq mt - Rs 400,

-301 to 500 sq mt - Rs 600,

-Above 500 sq mt - Rs 750.

-Slums - Rs 5 per sq mt. (Irrespective of Plot Area and Land Value).

"Substandard and unapproved subdivisions of plots defeat the very objective of planned extension of services and amenities by the local bodies," order from the Municipal Administration and Urban Development department reads.
