Telangana went from 113 to 123 COVID deaths in 24 hrs, 206 new cases

Hyderabad: Telangana went from 113 to 123 COVID deaths in 24 hours, the highest recorded ever since the pandemic broke out in the state. The new COVID cases saw an all time single-day jump, 206 fresh cases were recorded in a span of 24 hours.

It is pertinent to mention, all 206 are locals and not migrants or foreign returnees. Out of the total, 152 are from Hyderabad,10 are from Ranga Reddy, 18 from Medchal. While Nirmal and Yadadri district which reported not more than 1 or 2 since yesterday, now has 5 positive cases each.

The surge in number is directly proportionate to the increase in public movement, the government claimed. In an official communication, the government said, "It is observed that there is a surge of cases in most of the districts across the state. In view of the surge the public is requested to be alert and self vigilant for any signs and symptoms of Influenza Like Illness (ILI) OR Severe Acute Respiratory Infection (SARI).

The government health authorities advised, "In case of onset of any symptoms of ILI OR SARI, the public are requested to immediately contact the nearest government health facility with out any delay. The public are requested to avoid self medication, quacks, faith healers and any other indegenious therapy. "Early reporting to the health facility will enable prompt diagnosis and management. Seeking medical care soon after the onset of symptoms is vital to reduce the morbidity and mortality associated with Covid-19.Please do not step out of the house unless essential" the advisory said.
