Congress widens margin to 9,559 votes after Round 4

The fourth round of counting in the Jubilee Hills by-election has concluded, with the Congress firmly in the lead after securing 38,566 votes. The BRS stands at 29,007 votes, while the BJP has polled 7,296 votes.

With four rounds completed, the Congress candidate has expanded the lead to 9,559 votes, consolidating the party’s strong position as counting continues.

Congress builds strong momentum after Round 3

The Congress continued to consolidate its position in the Jubilee Hills by-election, extending its lead to 6,012 votes by the end of the third round of counting.

Congress Party candidate Naveen Yadav has so far secured 28,999 votes, maintaining a clear advantage over BRS candidate Maganti Sunitha Gopinath, who has polled 22,987 votes. BJP’s Lankala Deepak Reddy stands at 5,361 votes, trailing in third place as counting moves forward.

Congress widens lead after two rounds of counting

The second round of counting added 16,609 votes to the tally, with the Congress securing 8,963 votes, followed by the BRS with 6,015 and the BJP with 1,308. This round pushed the Congress ahead by 2,948 votes.

After the completion of the first two rounds, a total of 37,068 votes have been counted. The Congress now stands at 17,874 votes, while the BRS candidate Maganti Sunitha has secured 14,879 votes and the BJP candidate Lankala Deepaak Reddy has secured 3,475 votes, giving the Congress candidate Naveen Yadav an overall lead of 2,995 votes.

First-round results

In the opening round, the Congress and BRS candidates finished neck-and-neck, with the BJP trailing at a distance.

Congress leads by 47 votes

Congress candidate Naveen Yadav holds a lead of just 47 votes over BRS nominee Maganti Sunitha Gopinath, signalling a competitive battle ahead. The counting process is continuing, and margins are expected to fluctuate over the next rounds.

Congress leads in postal ballot

The postal ballot counting for the Jubilee Hills Assembly by-election has concluded. Of the 101 postal ballots cast, 96 were declared valid, while 5 were rejected. Among the valid votes, Congress candidate Naveen Yadav secured 43 votes, followed by BRS nominee Maganti Sunitha Gopinath with 25 votes and BJP’s Deepak Lankala with 20 votes.

Other candidates polled minimal votes: Ambhoju Buddaiah (1), Racha Subhadra Reddy (2), Asma Begum (1), A. Sudarshan (1), and OU Kashinath (1), while NOTA received 2 votes. Congress holds the lead in the postal ballots as overall counting progresses.

Counting

The counting of votes for the Jubilee Hills by-election began amid tight security at Kotla Vijay Bhaskar Reddy Stadium here on Friday.

The counting will be completed in nine rounds. With 58 candidates contesting, each round of counting is expected to take about 40 minutes, and final results are likely by 2 PM.

A total of 42 tables, arranged in two rows, have been set up at the stadium, with each round covering EVMs from 42 polling stations. Counting will be completed in 10 rounds for all 407 stations, supported by 186 deployed personnel.

Congress was leading with a slender margin in the first round of counting.

Congress Candidate V Naveen Yadav has inched ahead, though the contest remains closely fought.
