TRS violates norms in Huzurnagar by-election, Congress complains to Guv

Hyderabad: Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) has voiced concerns over the misutilization of power in the Huzurnagar by-election by the ruling TRS party. Mr Gutha Sukender Reddy, chairman of Legislative Council, is interfering in the by-election process in Huzurnagar Assembly constituency, said TPCC chief Mr N Uttam Kumar Reddy.

The TPCC president wrote a letter to Telangana Governor Ms Tamilisai Soundarrajan. In the letter, Mr Reddy complained to the Governor that the TRS party has been violating constitutional norms in the Huzurnagar by-election, which is scheduled for polling on October 21, 2019.

Mr Reddy won as MLA from Huzurnagar constituency in December 2018 elections. Later, he contested from Nalgonda Lok Sabha constituency in 2019 general elections and won it. Subsequently, Mr Reddy resigned as MLA and has been continuing as Nalgonda MP. His resignation led to the by-election in Huzurnagar Assembly constituency.

Mr Reddy said that right from presiding officers of both houses of Parliament and Legislatives are kept away from direct politics. Shri Gutha Sukender Reddy is interfering in the election process of Huzurnagar by-election, he added.

“But, Shri Gutha Sukender Reddy is interfering on a daily basis. Mr Reddy called Shri Motilal Naik, ZPTC, Shri Jitender Reddy Palakeedu Sarpanch, and large number of Congress leaders from Huzurnagar constituency. Offered them large amounts of cash in his house at Film Nagar and persuaded them to join the TRS party. Shri Gutha Sukender Reddy’s son Shri Amit Reddy is directly involved as a government contractor. We bring to your notice that a person in constitutional appointments is violating constitutional norms because of his greed for becoming a minister,” the TPCC president said in the letter.

Mr Uttam Kumar Reddy further alleged that if TRS wins Huzurnagar by-election, he will be made minister in place of shri Malla Reddy or Mr Jagdish Reddy.
