During day two of the Cannes Film Festival 2025, Aishwarya Rai’s cape was accidentally stepped on by actor Helen Mirren while the two posed with Cara Delevingne. The mishap briefly dislodged the cape, sliding it to Aishwarya’s elbow.

Aishwarya responded with grace, smiling and adjusting her cape without fuss, before seamlessly resuming her pose.

Helen Mirren was seen apologising to Aishwarya, who took it in stride. Social media erupted with admiration for both stars.

Aishwarya wore a custom Gaurav Gupta gown titled ‘Heiress of a Clam’, featuring a black velvet base with silver and gold beadwork. Her ivory Banarasi brocade cape was handwoven in Varanasi and inscribed with a Sanskrit shloka.

Completing her regal look with a bold red lip, drop earrings, and floral diamond rings, Aishwarya was seen arriving for the day with daughter Aaradhya by her side.
