Congress appointed former MLA Devender Yadav as interim president of Delhi after Arvinder Singh Lovely resigned.

Devender Yadav won from Badli assembly constituency in Delhi in 2008 and 2013. He lost to AAP's Ajesh Yadav in 2015. He is also the AICC in-charge of Punjab.
