Omar Abdullah and Mehbooba Mufti appealed to Election Commission to not postpone polls in Anantnag Rajouri.

EC sought a report from chief secretary Atal Dulloo and electoral officials after some parties and three candidates sought rescheduling.

Rescheduling demand is due to adverse weather conditions which could lead to road closure.

Both leaders said the roads are open today and there is no need for postponement.

People will lose faith in the electoral process, they told EC if such steps are taken.
