Former Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister K S Eshwarappa is contesting as an independent candidate against BJP's B Y Raghavendra from Shivamogga Lok Sabha.

Eshwarappa was denied a ticket by the party.

B Y Raghavendra, is the son of BJP veteran B S Yediyurappa.

Eshwarappa wanted ticket for his son K E Kantesh from Haveri constituency which was denied.
