Union minister for Coal and Mines G Kishan Reddy in a review meeting stressed for faster clearance of coal blocks.

Reddy stressed on close coordination with all stakeholders including state government and ministry of Environment, Forests and Climate change.

54 mines are operational, 58 mines have got permission to operate which have produced 147 MT tons of coal in the country.

The target set for production of coal is 175 MT coal and increase it from the present 15 percent to 19 percent.
