Senior Kapu leader Mudragada Padmanabham and his son Giri joined the YSRCP, in the presence of Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy.

He is a prominent face of the Kapu community, which is predominant in East Godavari district.

The YSRCP is planning to utilise Mudragada's politcal influence to attract Kapu voters in twin Godavari districts.
