Telangana government has unveiled a major plan to transform the Musi riverfront into a cultural and spiritual corridor blending heritage with modern urban development.
Led by Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, the project is expected to improve connectivity, boost tourism, and drive economic growth in Hyderabad.
The project centres on the redevelopment of Sri Machileshwara and Omkareshwara temples, reviving a 1,400-year-old Shaivite legacy with grand architecture and a towering Shiva statue.
The riverfront will also feature a mosque at Puranapul, a gurudwara at Gowliguda, and a church at Nagole, highlighting unity and coexistence of multiple faiths.
Plans include river cleaning, landscaped parks, promenades, boating facilities, and pedestrian-friendly zones to enhance public life and sustainability.
