Veteran filmmaker Shekhar Kapur has been appointed director for IFFI's 55th and 56th editions.

The Information and Broadcasting Ministry confirmed the appointment. Kapur expressed gratitude, calling it an "honour" and "responsibility."

The filmmaker is popularly Known for films like "Mr India", "Bandit Queen", and "Elizabeth". Kapur Previously chaired the 54th IFFI jury and FTII from 2020-2023.
