MAYA, a graduation short film by final-year students of Annapurna College of Film and Media, has earned national and international acclaim with multiple festival selections and awards.

Written and directed by Swarna Rekha Prabhu, the film explores dreams, the subconscious, memory, and emotion through a surreal narrative lens.

The film is a result of strong collaboration, with contributions across direction, cinematography, editing, sound, production design, VFX, and poster design by a dedicated student team.

Amala Akkineni, Director of Annapurna College of Film and Media, lauded the students for pushing creative boundaries and embracing hands-on learning.

MAYA has been recognised at festivals including the VGIK International Student Film Festival, Kuala Lumpur International Film Awards, Chennai International Short Film Festival, and The Corner Seats International Film Festival 2025.
