Suraj Prakash Vaid, also known as the ‘Man of the Golden Hour’, has received the Cheistha Kochhar Good Samaritan Award for 2024
He is known for his exceptional contributions for the past three decades to ensure road accident victims receive timely medical attention by transporting them to hospitals.
His timely interventions have ensured over 200 road accident victims have received emergency care within the first hour.
The Centre for Domestic Economy Policy Research, with support from Porter, has awarded him the Cheistha Kochhar Good Samaritan Award 2024.
The award was conceptualized by Sujit Bhattacharya, a young scholar who has been working on increasing income levels of auto drivers, who was inspired by nudge theory used in behavioural economics promoted by late Cheistha Kochhar.
