Manipur education minister Thounaojam Basantakumar Singh to contest Lok Sabha elections from Inner Manipur seat for the BJP.

He is a former IPS officer and now MLA from Nambol Assembly constituency in Bishnupur district.

Sitting MP and union minister Rajkumar Ranjan Singh has been dropped by BJP.

Thounaojam Basantakumar Singh is the son of former union minister Thounaojam Chaoba Singh.
