Uber has announced that customers must now pay auto drivers directly in cash, as Uber credits and other digital payment options will no longer be accepted for auto rides.

The company has notified users about the change. Uber credits will still be valid for other ride categories.
In its communication to customers, Uber said, “We understand this is a change, but rest assured, the ride experience remains as seamless as always. We’re excited to share this new step towards simplicity with you.”
Ride-hailing platforms like Rapido have already adopted a similar model, where auto drivers pay a fixed fee for platform access instead of a per-ride commission.
This change allows auto drivers to receive the full fare without deductions, making Uber a more attractive platform for them.
