Hyderabad: Telangana reported 948 new COVID cases on Tuesday taking the overall tally to 2,59,776 in the state.


Five new deaths are reported on November 17 taking the total tally to 1,415. The fatality rate in the state is 0.54 per cent which is less than the national average of 1.5 per cent.


The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation area reported 154 new cases while Rangareddy reported 76 new cases. Districts of Telangana is seeing the increase in cases. Medchal Malkajigiri reported 83 new cases while Karimnagar reported 55 new cases.

Around 1,607 citizens recovered from the infection on Tuesday taking the tally of total recoveries to 2,45,293. The recovery rate, as per the government now stands at 94.42 per cent, which approximately one per cent higher than the national average of 93.5 per cent.

The government tested 42,433 citizens for the virus on Tuesday. So far 49,72,407 samples have been tested in the state. Samples tested per million population stand at 1,33,594. Still, 807 reports are awaited. 18,670 primary contacts are tested on
Tuesday
while 5,091 secondary contacts are tested.

The state currently has 13,068 active cases. Of the total active cases, 10,710 are under home isolation. Of total positive cases, 70 per cent are asymptomatic with no severe signs of distress while 30 per cent are symptomatic.

According to the state bulletin, men aged between 31 and 40 years contribute to 14.72 per cent of the total cases. Women aged between 21 and 30 years contribute to 9.02 per cent of the total cases. The deaths due to comorbidities have risen to 55.04 per cent. 44.96 per cent of victims had no comorbidities.
