ACB arrest Kamareddy police inspector for demanding Rs 5L bribe

Nizamabad: Anti Corruption Bureau on Friday arrested the inspector of Kamareddy police for demanding a bribe of Rs 5 lakh.

Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) registered a case against Inspector I Jagdish of Kamareddy Police Station for demanding Rs 5 lakh from a resident of Kamareddy to release Bathula Sudhakar on bail.

On November 8, Kamareddy police station registered a case under Telangana State Gaming Act against Bathula Sudhakar. But he was released from the police station on the same day.

ACB said that the inspector performed public duty improperly and dishonestly to obtain an undue advantage. Searches are being conducted at various places in connection with this case.

Police are likely to produce I Jagadish and M Sujay, a private person, before the court for remand.
