HYDERABAD: Social media users are claiming that there will be a three-day lockdown and internet shutdown in Rajasthan to avoid copying during Rajasthan Teacher Eligibility Test (REET) scheduled to be held on September 26.
"In view of the REET exam, the state government has declared a three-day lockdown and internet shutdown in entire Rajasthan. To prevent copying, common people, laborers will be stopped except students from going from one district to another. Vehicles and government officials with emergency service are also exempted and all business establishments, schools, colleges, coaching institutions will remain completely closed. Order for lockdown and internet shutdown dated 24 September 5 pm to 26 September evening Will be in effect till 7 pm. No Call Only Whatsapp Message (sic)," reads the message.

The claim is false.
Jaipur Police said no such guidelines have been issued regarding a lockdown or internet shutdown in Rajasthan. "From September 24 to September 26, no guidelines have been issued regarding the rumor of lockdown and internet shutdown in Rajasthan. Please do not spread such rumors or pay attention to such rumors, otherwise, legal action will be taken against those spreading rumors," police tweeted.
