Hyderabad: The Rachakonda police will deploy 10,000 personnel during the GHMC elections in 30 wards with 14.2 lakh voters. Around 8,000 civil forces will be used for the elections while 2,000 armed forces will be deployed in the sensitive and critical polling locations along with civil forces.
There are 1,637 polling stations covering 576 polling locations within the Rachakonda police limits of which 53 polling stations have been categorised as 'hypersensitive' and 512 as 'sensitive'.
On the day of the polls, all polling centres will be under CCTV surveillance and barricades will be set up at a distance of 100m.
The Rachakonda police also said that the police is conducting meetings with all political parties, police station-wise, to sensitise them about the Model Code of Conduct. They have also set up check-posts at 29 places and 90 pickets. Flag marches are being conducted in some localities and sensitive areas to instill confidencel among the voters.
The Rachakonda police have also impounded and deposited 353 licensed arms of the total 711 licensed arms given to the police.
Cyberbad police to deploy over 13k personnel
Meanwhile, the Cyberabad police, on Friday, said it will deploy 13,500 personnel in 38 GHMC divisions under 19 police stations with 20.5 lakh voters.
Cyberabad has 2,569 polling stations in 674 polling locations.
ACPs have been appointed as nodal officers in each GHMC circle to coordinate with the election authorities. At 15 locations, check-posts have been set up. The Cyberabad cops are also conducting flag marches in sensitive areas. They have also impounded 157 licenced arms.
