19YO student gang-raped in OYO hotel at Kukatpally, three arrested

Hyderabad: A 19-year-old student from Jubilee Hills was allegedly drugged and raped by three youth in a hotel at Kukatpally.

The incident occurred on October 5 but came to light after the girl informed her mother two days ago. A Zero FIR was registered at Jubilee Hills police station. Later the case was transferred to Kukatpally police station, which registered a case of rape and arrested the three accused.

The accused Madhoji Joseph, Bondagadla Naveen Reddy and Ragani Ramulu had mixed sedatives with a cake. After she fell unconscious, the accused took turns to rape her at OYO- Anand Inn hotel at Kukatpally.

According to the police, the girl is studying at Secunderabad. Three months ago, she became friends with Joseph and since then they were regularly in touch over the phone. Since October 5 was his birthday, he invited the girl to a party. The girl, who left home to pay college fees, met Joseph. Later his friends Naveen Reddy and Ramulu also joined in.

All of them went to OYO- Anand Inn hotel located near KPHB metro, where they told her that Joseph had planned the birthday celebration. They insisted that she should have the first piece of cake as she was the guest. As she ate the cake, she became unconscious. When she woke up, she realized that she had been raped. They threatened to kill her if she revealed the matter to anybody and sent her home.

A few days later, she became severely ill and was admitted to a hospital. While undergoing treatment, she informed her mother about the incident.

Later her mother lodged a complaint at Jubilee Hills police station. The case was transferred to Kukatpally police station as the hotel falls under its jurisdiction. Further investigation is underway, police said.
