2 dead as speeding car collides with lorry on NH44

Hyderabad: Two persons were killed at Shadnagar in Rangareddy district when their car collided with a lorry on NH44 on 20 September.

The police have identified the victims as Shankar, the driver of the car, and Balasubramaniam. Both are from Hanmakonda Kazipet. They were on their way from Shadnagar to Hyderabad when the mishap occurred and the duo died on the spot. The Kothur police have registered a case and started an investigation.

The victims were taken to Shadnagar government hospital for postmortem, local inspector Bhopal Sridhar said.

Meanwhile, three people were injured in two separate accidents that occurred on the P. V. Narasimha Rao Expressway.

In the first incident, one person was injured after his speeding car derailed and collided with a pole on the expressway that falls under the Rajendranagar police station limits in Hyderabad. Locals informed the police immediately and the cops rushed to the spot and took the injured person to the hospital. A case has been registered and the cause of the accident is being investigated.

In another incident, an Innova that was travelling from Mehdipatnam to Shamshabad on the expressway hit a road divider, injuring two. According to the police, there were four passengers in the car at the time of the accident. The cops took the injured people to a nearby hospital. A case has been registered and an investigation is underway, they said.
