Visakhapatnam: Two 20-year-old's who were returning home after attending a birthday party were killed after their speeding motorbike hit a car in Vizag on 13 September.
The Fourth Town police identified the victims as Muppidi KoteswaraRao, a resident of SC Colony in Malkapuram, and S. Sarat of nearby Gandhiji Colony. The two men had gone to RK Beach to celebrate a friend's birthday. While they were returning from the party which had lasted till midnight their motorbike hit a car at the DLO junction near Visakhapatnam Railway station. Koti died on the spot while Sarat died in the early hours of Sunday while undergoing treatment at King George Hospital.
The police said over-speeding was the cause of the accident. They were traveling at around 100 kmph when the mishap occurred. The front portion of their motorbike was completely smashed, the police said, adding their bodies have been handed over to their families after postmortem.
According to the police, Koti was a professional dancer and event organiser. However, the COVID-19 pandemic had hit his business and he had been unemployed for the past five months. Sarat, too, had lost his job due to the lockdown.
