20-yr-old student dies by suicide after being cheated by youth, records selfie-video on reasons behind her extreme step

Nellore: A second year BCA student hanged herself to death from the ceiling fan in her residence at BV Nagar area in Nellore allegedly after she was cheated by a youngster in the name of love. She recorded a selfie video explaining the reasons behind her extreme step.

Though the incident happened on Friday evening, the incident came to light on Saturday when the girl’s parents lodged a police complaint seeking action against those responsible for their daughter’s death.

The victim has been identified as Ramya, 20, a BCA student of a private college in Nellore. The police said that one Siva Bhargav of Nellore town allegedly trapped the girl in the name of love and later, he mentally harassed the girl and cheated her.

On Friday evening, Ramya posted several messages on WhatsApp to Siva Bhargav requesting him to speak to her for a couple of minutes. However, Siva Bhargav didn’t reply to Ramya’s messages.

Apparently disappointed with Siva Bhargav’s attitude, Ramya went into her room, locked the bolt from inside and recorded her suicide on her mobile phone.

The girl’s parents, Venkata Raju and Subbamma, alleged that Siva Bhargav and his friends, Vasu and Saikiran, were responsible for their daughter’s suicide.

The Nellore police seized the mobile phone of the victim and are examining the WhatsApp chat with Siva Bhargav for investigation into the case.

The police said that they have registered a case against Siva Bhargav, Vasu and Saikiran under relevant sections of IPC and launched a manhunt to nab the trio.
