5 states including Telangana get a new Governor

Hyderabad: President Ramnath Kovind has appointed new governors to five states, including Telangana. Dr Tamilsai Soundarajan has been appointed as the new Governor of Telangana replacing ESL Narasimhan, who served for nearly 10 years having assumed office of Governor of combined Andhra Pradesh in 2009 and later acting as Governor for the two Telugu states of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh, with the latter state getting a new Governor a few weeks ago.
Another notable appointment pertaining to Telugu states is the elevation of senior BJP leader and former Union Minister Bandaru Dattatreya as the new Governor for Himachal Pradesh.
Among other appointments, Bhagat Singh Koshyari was given the Maharashtra Governor post replacing Ch Vidyasagar Rao, a senior leader from Telangana BJP and former union minister earlier.
Kalraj Mishra, the Himachal Pradesh Governor, has been shifted and appointed as Rajasthan Governor while Arif Mohammed Khan is the new Governor for Kerala.
The above appointments will take effect from the dates they assume charge of their respective offices, a press release issued by Rashtrapati Bhavan stated.
