5 youngsters from Khammam district arrested for smuggling ganja

Five youngsters including four engineering students who were involved in smuggling ganja and selling it to people in the city were arrested by Shamshabad police on Saturday. The youngsters would procure ganja from Vizag Agency Area in Andhra Pradesh for lesser price and would sell it to individuals in the city.

The arrested persons have been identified as T Bhanuteja Reddy, D Sai Naresh Chandra Yadav, K Akhil, D Sai Kumar, all pursuing engineering in reputed colleges in the city and Shaik Nayeem, who is working for a private firm in the city.

Police found that all the accused hailed from Khammam district and were residing together at Rajendranagar area. They were supplying ganja in small quantities to migrant labourers from Bihar, Meghalaya, Assam, West Bengal, Odisha and other northern states. Eight kilograms of ganja was seized from their possession.
